Muirhead Farm

Application Reference: 14/03510/FULL Date 20.10.14
Proposal: Erection of 500 kW wind turbine (79m to blade tip)
Address: Muirhead Farm Fife

In response to concerns by householders close to the site we objected to this proposal as did Ceres and District Community Council. The application came before the planning committee on 8th April 2015 with a recommendation for approval. A motion for refusal by Councillor Kennedy was supported by a majority of the committee and it was refused by notice dated the 14th May 2015.

The Applicant appealed the decision and the reporter appointed by the Scottish Government allowed the appeal and granted planning consent on 2nd October 2015.

It remains to be seen, given the changes to the Feed in Tariff subsidy regime, if the applicant Tencreek Renewables can put together a funding package and develop the site. They have no record of ever having developed a wind turbine site before… there liabilities exceed their assets…their share capital is £100.00…. they have no bankable information of wind speeds as they did not put up a met mast and how they found their way from Ottery St Mary in Devon to Muirhed farm is a mystery only the farmer can solve.

15/02025/SCR | Screening request for erection of one wind turbine (45m to blade tip) Clatto Farm Cupar Fife KY15 7TG

In June 2015 the applicant asked for an opinion from Fife Council if an application for another 45 metre wind turbine to join the one erected in early 2015 would require an Environmental Impact Assessment and the council advised them that this would not be required.
